Wounds

Wounds are obvious tears in the flesh caused by predators such as eagles, mergansers or mink. Wounds can also be caused by abrasions as the fish are knocked against rocks or debris during high water flows. Wounds from gill nets are also common. A different scale pattern, raised scales, or reoriented scales may occur when wounds heal.
